Boating routes

The boating route begins in Prelesje. The region from Prelesje to Fučkovci is the area of the Regional Park Kolpa (protected area). You can explore the river by boat, canoe or a smaller raft down to the village Kot near Kolpa, which is the next entrance/exit point. The river route then passes the small border crossing near village Sodevci, up to Spodnji Radenci and then further to the next entrance/exit point. This is followed by the descent down the canyon of the river Kolpa (natural treasure), above which the rock walls Mala and Velika Radenska stena rise up on the Slovene side, and up to the village Breg, where another stop is made. Here we can see a still working mill on the river (natural landmark) and further on a karstic cave Kobiljača (natural treasure). This is followed by the descent towards Kot, which is the southernmost Slovene village, and to Damlje, which is the next entrance/exit point. During our stop we can have a look at the church of St. Mihael (cultural landmark). The descent continues accros Krivec, where the river takes its cutting turn, past the small village Otok and villages Vukovci, Učakovci, Sečje selo towards Vinica, where soon after the border crossing near the dam our final entrance/exit point is reached. We can finish our route in Vinica or decide to continue down the stream, pass the villages Podklanec, Zilje, Pavlini, Dejani, Jakovini, Vidine, through Preloka to Žuniči, which is another small border crossing and information center, placed in the renewed country house - "Šokčeva domačija" (cultural landmark). The boating route then passes villages Marindol, Vrhovci, Adlešiči, Pobrežje, Fučkovci and Dragoše to the next entrance/exit point in Griblje. The river expedition is usually concluded by a picnic in the camp Podzemelj.
