The day of Bela krajina culinarics

Entering Bela krajina you are immediately met with a typical snack (veal stew, buckwheat hard-boiled corn mush). After the snack we meet the local tourist guide, who takes us to exquisite cooks and their delicacies. You also meet the members of one of the Rural Women Associations. At the introductory workshop you can see the procedure of the baking of flat cake "belokranjska pogača" and other protected dishes of the region. Then we pay a visit to a housewife, who bakes bread at her farm as a supplementary activity. The marketing of such products and their demand on market is introduced to you directly by people responsible. Because Bela krajina is, only in the culinary sense, still rather mysterious, we continue to the village Veliki Nerajec. There the local women receive us with buckwheat potica and show us the pulse of the village, which is sitiuated on the edge of the Lahinja Regional Park. This is followed by a late lunch, which only additionally stresses the hospitality of local people. Merry tunes of an accordion then swing the day away.
