Zeleni Jure

We visit Bela krajina with "Zeleni Jurij" (a local guide), who accompanies us with his expert knowledge on all our destinations. First we gain some strength with a snack. Our journey starts in Črnomelj, where we visit the old town core and the parish church of St. Peter and the church of the Holy Ghost. This is followed by a longer stop at the Pastoral center, where we have a look at the remains of the wall from late Antiquity and from the middle Ages. The Maleričeva house - the home of Bela krajina craftsmen - is a perfect place to buy some cottage industry products. This visit is concluded with cheese and flat cake "belokranjska pogača". Then we enjoy the wine tasting at the Črnomaljska cellar with expert guidance of the Wine Information Center personnel. The road then continues towards Vinica. We stop at the edge of the Lahinja Regional Park, in the village Veliki Nerajec, and get to know its peculiarities. Further, we take a walk up to the park's information cabin - a small house with a black kitchen - and witness the shopping tour of the cottage industry gallery. Then we visit a known village in Bela krajina - Adlešiči, where you can still see the home making of linen and admire the artistic colouring of painted eggs "belokranjske pisanice". Our educational tour ends in the village Rosalnice, by a visit of the pilgrim Gothic church, called Tri fare. Finally, the merrytime at a tourist farm or at an inn with a local accordion player gives a perfect closing to a great day.
