Proteus Anguninus

The black proteus or proteus anguinus is the subspecies of the proteus. It was discovered some 300 years after his white counterpart, in 1986, in the nearby source of Dobličica, and later also in the source Jelševnik. The source Jelševnik is the only place where the black proteus can be observed in its natural environment. You can meet the black proteus in the Zupančičeva house by the source, where you can also enjoy food, fish specialities and see the film about the proteus.
