Hiking trail to Smuk - Gornje Laze

An organized hike along this trail has been organized for many years, so the hiking trail to the Smuk hill is a fairly known one. It starts in Semič (Štefan square) and climbs steeply among the Semič vineyard cottages passing a chapel and a spring to the highest point of the hike – the Smuk hill (547m). Here you can have a look at the ruins of the Smuk Castle and dormouse hunter's cottage before continuing along a scenic path under the shade of the forest trees to the village of Pribišje. In the village turn to the forest path and follow the path marked for memorial plaque in the village of Gornje Laze. The organized hike takes place at the end of October in remembrance of the first partisan troop of Bela krajina.
