Mojca, a charismatic lady of the house, will welcome you in the front yard of the family home. You will be able to enjoy a homemade feast in a homely atmosphere while she entertains you with a story of bread, life, and humour. Your visit to the House of Good Bread needs to be arranged in advance since the experience is not merely about food, but adventure as well. This is also the place where schoolchildren can attend the Bread Baking School and learn how to knead the dough, use the bread oven to bake bread, and take their first loaf home. They also learn about the history of bread baking and come to appreciate bread as a value. Older guests can enjoy a degustation of house pastries and bread while they observe the process of making “belokranjska pogača”, a traditional leavened flatbread sprinkled with caraway and coarse salt, and classified as TGS – Traditional Speciality Guaranteed.
Mojca Kramarič started her bakery Homemade Delicacies Mojca 15 years ago. Here you can find just about everything, from delicious homemade mlinci (thin and crisp unleavened flatbread that is served cooked as a side dish), bread, flatbreads, and strudels to various pastries and sumptuous potica varieties (rolled up sweet dough with a selection of fillings). Moist and luscious cakes are the regular feature of our offer and they are known for their imaginative shapes and realistic decorations which ensure that your celebration will be a memorable one. We also offer buffet service. All of our services have to be pre-ordered but you can buy our products at the farmers’ markets in Črnomelj (Saturdays), Metlika (Saturdays and market day Tuesdays), and Novo mesto (farmers’ market on Mondays and Fridays). You can visit us in Rosalnice. Yours truly, Mojca and Stanko.
