The multi-purpose space named “Belokranjsko izročilo” (Traditions of Bela krajina) is located on Stane Rozman Street 6, in Črnomelj’s old town centre, accessible from the street across from the church. The name itself reveals that everything inside is tied to the traditions of Bela krajina; This includes knowledge inherited from our forebears, music of the Bela krajina region, arts, crafts, regional dishes of Bela krajina, and the kindness characteristic of Bela krajina. The paintings of individual local painters are regularly featured at the Traditions of Bela krajina along with the exhibits of works by local craftsmen, artists, and authors. In addition, we host several events, with one common feature – they are local, from Bela krajina. We conduct workshops, lectures, we cook traditional dishes, we bake, embroider, crochet, draw, felt, bake Črnomelj-type pretzels, or Belokranjska pogača (local flatbread)… We find it most important that a visitor who comes across our region EXPERIENCES Bela krajina through all the senses. We have already attracted numerous visitors from across the globe. Above all our space is a pleasant addition to the offer of Črnomelj’s old town centre. We can enhance your visit to the Traditions of Bela krajina with a tour of Črnomelj's old town centre or the whole of Bela krajina, being that the Traditions of Bela krajina employs a local tourist guide for the region of Bela krajina.
Per advance agreement, we can conduct craft workshops, culinary, musical, or cultural events for families, business partners, smaller or larger groups. In the Traditions of Bela krajina you can also purchase handcrafted products and souvenirs by various local artisans, as well as honey and honey products (gingerbread biscuits, natural honey soaps…)
