59. Jurjevanje from June 21 to 25
In 2023 in Črnomelj will take plece the 59th Folklore festival Jurjevanje in Bela krajina. It is the oldest folklore festival in Slovenia, recognized nationally and internationally. The festival is a member of the International Council of Organizations of Folklore Festivals and Folk Arts - CIOFF. During the five-day festival, with the main stage in the Jurjevanska draga Valley and many more locations in the town will provide you with many events - you can enjoy the performances of local and foreign folklore groups, concerts of ethnic, classical, and folk music. Visit exciting exhibitions, children’s shows, and workshops for the youngest’s, on the market on Saturday you can examine and buy local produce and products.
Do not miss the spring celebration at the oldest folklore festival in Slovenia called Jurjevanje, which takes place in Črnomelj at the end of June and has a tradition of more than half a century. Folkloric groups from all over the world take part in it. It is a celebration of customs, the revival of the traditions of Bela krajina, folklore, folk songs, and dances. It also brings cheerfulness, concerts, and socializing before the summer heat.
