The city museum collection Črnomelj is located in the birthplace of the poet and writer Miran Jarc, and the permanent exhibition Črnomelj in the Fork of the Millennia presents the city's past through archaeological material and archival sources.
St. Peter's Chuch has been a key building over the centuries in shaping the town and various religious, cultural, and tourist events in Črnomlje.
