A walk along Mirana Jarca Street impresses with the Holy Spirit's Church, which represents the central cultural facility in the old town center of Črnomlj with a late antique mosaic and is the venue for musical events and various exhibitions. Not far away, the Pastoral Center boasts a permanent exhibition, The City under the City, with archaeological remains of the prehistoric, ancient, and medieval settlements of today's Črnomlj.
The city museum collection Črnomelj is located in the birthplace of the poet and writer Miran Jarc, and the permanent exhibition Črnomelj in the Fork of the Millennia presents the city's past through archaeological material and archival sources.
St. Peter's Chuch has been a key building over the centuries in shaping the town and various religious, cultural, and tourist events in Črnomlje. Next to the church is a well/drinking fountain, a work of art by sculptor Boštjan Kavčič, which is a hymn to life and clean drinking water and encourages a respectful and responsible attitude towards water resources.
