Hiking Circular Path Metlika - Krašnji Vrh - Metlika

A breathtaking panoramic view of the entire Bela krajina opens from the hiking outpost situated above the village with the highest altitude (526 m) in the municipality of Metlika. The amazing view inspired the Metlika Hiking Society to build a 17m high observation tower, clear a natural climbing wall in the immediate vicinity of the outpost, set up a boules area and a playground. You can take a marked hiking trail to the village Krašnji Vrh and the hiking outpost from Metlika. The trail runs among the fields, forests and vineyards, past the villages Slamna vas, and Bojanja vas to Krašnji Vrh. The second part of the circular hiking trail from Krašnji Vrh back to Metlika runs just below the village Radovica, through the forests (almost no paved roads in between), past the cool spring "Okno" below Slamna vas, and the cave "Bečka Jama", through the famous Bela krajina birch wood with luscious eagle fern undergrowth, to the ancient place of worship Tri fare and from there across the Mestni breg back to Metlika. The entire trail is marked and equipped with signposts.
Traditional hike: 1 May and the second Saturday in the month of February
