It is the dislocated unit of the Bela Krajina Museum and has been giving its unique mark to the centre cityscape for more than 180 years. For a long time, it hosted a school. Later, it served as a post and healthcare unit. In 1973, the first museum collection was set up and since then, knowledge is transferred to younger generations behind these walls again. The renovation of the existing facility included the exhibition spaces in three stories and a wedding/multipurpose hall on the ground floor. In the area of the more minor extension, a new service part of the building with the entry into the Tourism Information Centre was built. The extension also includes a design room, a technical service and all vertical communications missing in the main building. The facility and its modern extension represent an entry point for numerous visitors who want to explore further the attractions and sights of the land between the Gorjanci Hills and the Kolpa River. The Semič Museum House features three exhibitions: The Nature Centre of Bela krajina, Semič in 20 Photos and the Vinicultural Collection with an arranged tasting area.
