Linen embroidery is still one of the most widespread types of handicraft, but there are not many women who have really mastered the skill. One of them is Helena Veselič from Vrhovci near Adlešiči, whose love of embroidery has been with her since she was a little girl.
The basic colours in embroidery are red and blue, and the ornamentation is mainly geometric. Bela Krajina embroidered products are a reflection of human creativity and rich cultural heritage.
Handmade Helena was awarded the TKBZ Belokranjsko quality certificate for Belokranjsko embroidery and a linen embroidered mat. Helena has also received the Art & Craft certificate awarded by the Chamber of Crafts and Enterprise of Slovenia for several of her products.
