Obkolpski Brevet
A cycling adventure through the hills of Bela Krajina, the forests of Kočevje and the picturesque Kolpa River canyon!
Join us on an unforgettable cycling brevet that will take you through three exceptional landscapes: sunny Bela Krajina, mysterious Kočevje, and the unspoilt Kolpa River valley. The route offers the perfect combination of a sporting challenge – the climb up Strmo Reber – and a wealth of natural and historical heritage.

Key highlights and points of interest along the route
- Black olm information point (Jelševnik): The route passes by the globally unique habitat of this mysterious subterranean creature.
- Ascent to Strmo Reber and photo spot: Conquer Slovenia’s ‘Stelvio’ with its 19 famous hairpin bends and stop at the panoramic viewpoint overlooking the Kolpa River valley.
- Kolpa Landscape Park: Cross the border several times and cycle alongside the unspoilt and pristine Kolpa River.
Compulsory equipment and important warnings
Rules of the brevet: Participants ride at their own risk and are obliged to strictly observe road traffic regulations. The brevet is not a race, but a cycling endurance challenge.

Valid identity document: The route crosses the national border with the Republic of Croatia several times (a valid identity card or passport is required).

Cycling equipment: A road or gravel bike in perfect working order, a cycling helmet (compulsory!) and front and rear lights.

Reflective items: A reflective vest or strips in case of poor visibility.

Terms and conditions of participation and liability
Only registered participants may take part in the cycling experience. Participation is at your own risk. By registering, you confirm that you are physically and mentally fit to take part, that you are not under the influence of alcohol or other psychoactive substances, and that you will follow the instructions.
Participants must be of legal age; minors may only take part if accompanied by an adult or with the consent of their parents/guardians. the activities are not suitable for children aged 16 or under; participants must have valid health and accident insurance; they must inform the organiser of any medical conditions, illnesses or allergies before the start of the activity; any injuries sustained during the activity must be reported immediately.
