Baškovič Military Equipment Collection

Guided tour of the WWII and Yugoslav Army Collection

A collection of weapons and military equipment is on display in Praproče, near Semič. Its purpose is not only to highlight the importance of weapons over time, but also to raise awareness about responsible handling.
The arms collection includes items from the Second World War and after, as well as weapons from the Slovenian War of Independence. A military jeep stands in front of the entrance to the collection, and an anti-aircraft gun from 1943 is also a sight to behold.
There are various types of rifles, pistols, and machine guns on display. Other interesting items include telecommunications equipment, binoculars, military helmets, German army typewriters, canteens, and compasses donated by British soldiers to the partisans. The shocking fates are revealed by the personal identification of Jews who were probably killed in the Jasenovac camp.
Visitors will learn about a fascinating piece of our history through expert interpretation and a guided tour of the collection of weapons. We certainly hope that mankind will never use weapons again in the future.
