Become a beekeeper for a day
Taste nature, smell the herbs, and experience the power of the sun in one drop of honey. I invite you to step into my bee world for a moment. I am Ana Štublar, a beekeeper who cares for several million worker bees on her own apiary in the village of Cerovec near Črešnjevec in Bela Krajina. My father started beekeeping on our property more than sixty years ago, and I took over the business in 2023. Everything in our beekeeping is handmade and natural. The main product is honey (of course) and many other honey products and products - pollen, propolis, beeswax candles, gingerbread - and probably my most famous product, the Golden Blend, a mixture of fresh pollen, royal jelly, and propolis, designed to revive energy and make you feel better. Bela Krajina has an extremely diverse flora and a climate particularly favourable for honey production. A particular feature of our area is the annual summer drought during the honey-making season, which means that the nectar produced in summer is drier, making the honey more aromatic, with more flavour and more medicinal components. Such honey never goes off and is therefore considered a speciality. All these qualities are why I claim to live in BeeLand - and that is the name of my brand. If you haven't already, I cordially invite you to try one of my products. They are all naturally produced and certified organic, and have won numerous awards and accolades. At the same time, I invite you to visit me at our bee farm and experience a day with the bees. Where the bees are, man is at peace. Come, feel, and take this feeling with you.
I invite you to become a beekeeper for a day on my bee estate. Learn about the daily work of a beekeeper, visit the hives, learn how to take care of the bees, and taste the freshest honey as soon as it comes out of the hive. The visit lasts 1.5 hours and includes a honey feast and the opportunity to buy products from the BeeLand.
Course of the day:
- Presentation by the beekeeper and a walk around the estate.
- Visit to the beehive.
- Throughout the process, you will learn about the work of a beekeeper and how the life cycle of a bee colony takes place from the beginning of the season to the production of honey.
- Depending on the time of the honey season, participate in beekeeping tasks and, if circumstances allow, open the hive.
- Collect honey together from the hive frame and honeycomb and taste it to see if the bees have collected enough.
- Tasting fresh honey from the honeycomb and other honey products produced this season.
- Possibility to buy honey products. The programme is suitable for all ages and takes place in small groups of up to 12 participants.
Individual arrangements can be made. Booking is required at www.cebeljakrajina.si.
