Walk along Miran Jarc Street and be amazed by the Church of the Holy Spirit, the central cultural building in the Old Town of Črnomelj with its late antique mosaic and the venue for musical events and various exhibitions. Not far away, the Pastoral Centre boasts the permanent exhibition The City Beneath the City, with archaeological remains of the prehistoric, ancient, and medieval settlement of present-day Črnomelj.
Črnomelj Town Museum is located in the birthplace of the poet and writer Miran Jarc and presents the town's past through archaeological material and archival sources in its permanent exhibition Črnomelj at the turn of the millennium.
St Peter's Church has been a key building in shaping the town's views over the centuries, as well as the various religious, cultural, and tourist events in Črnomelj. Next to the church is a fountain/drinking fountain, an artwork by academic sculptor Boštjan Kavčič, which is a hymn to life and clean drinking water, and promotes a respectful and responsible attitude towards water resources.
