Wine cellar tour and tasting of 3 wine samples

Metlika Winery is the largest wine cellar in Bela Krajina. Its special feature is a magnificent tunnel-type cellar built underground, 108 meters long, with a constant temperature between 12 and 13 degrees Celsius. The first bottle of Metliška Črnina was bottled in our cellar in 1968. A special milestone was achieved in Slovenia at the Metlika Winery in 1981, when the first Rosé wine was produced in the country, and in 1986, the first Icewine was produced under the leadership of Dr. Julija Nemanič. We invite you to take a journey through Bela Krajina, among the vineyards and the diligent hands of long generations of wine growers, who have created everything that we can show to the visitor who enters this sensual land today. Walking among the wooden barrels, our experts will tell you the wonderful story of wine's creation, caught in the cobwebs of the past.
