Trata Plague Column
The Trata Plague Column, at the road to Semič, is one of the oldest and rarest masonry plague columns in Bela krajina. It reminds us of the plague, which took its toll on these villages and towns a few centuries ago. The masonry plague column has a square ground. Visually, it consists of three parts. The bottom part is made of stone, the middle part is an attachment with niches, and the upper part is a roof. The most dynamic part is the attachment with niches. In them, wooden sculptures were once erected, but they were removed and replaced with plaster casts. The plague column is taken care by the locals, who have named it “the Pild”.
