Welcome to Črnomelj - On the Trail of the Mysterious Visitor

Discover Črnomelj in a new way - from the river surface, from the riverbanks, through stories written by water, nature and time. You are invited to experience a place where the river meets history, nature meets culture and the mysterious visitor meets you.

Visitors can enjoy a walking trail along the river, resting places, observation points, an entry/exit point on the Lahinja River and many interesting educational and interpretative facilities.

Boat stories

Take a leisurely boat trip along the Lahinja and Dobličica rivers, which encircle the old town centre. Along the way, you’ll discover stories of nature and culture, spot beaver dams and birds, and enjoy a relaxed picnic with local delicacies.

The Curious Bat

Playful exploration along the river leads children into the world of beavers, turtles, mysterious bats and other animals that live in this special environment.

On the mysterious trails of bats

Explore the mysterious world of bats. On a guided walk along the river and through the old town of Črnomelj, you will get to discover the bats' hiding places, listen to the sounds they make, and learn about their lives.
