Step into a boat and take a guided trip along the Lahinja and Dobličica rivers. Bela Krajina is not just the Kolpa River. The bends of the Lahinja River hide their own stories. Suddenly, you find yourself at the spot where, over 800 years ago, a knight’s sword fell into the river. But did it really fall?
Take in the surroundings and let your eyes rest on the green hues of the Lahinja and Dobličica, amongst the green aquatic plants, ducks, and green tree canopies that sway gently in the soft breeze. You row calmly beneath the Črnomelj Triple Bridge, and at the confluence you can admire the Church of the Holy Spirit, which rises majestically above the old town walls. Who would have thought that Črnomelj has been inhabited for 3,000 years?
The stories follow you to the wooden benches and lavishly laid tables beneath Gostilna Müller. Sample the local and seasonal cuisine and raise a glass of wine.
