The chapel of St Little Terezika
At Semičstands the chapel of Little Therese, with a new mosaic painting by Fr Marek Ivan Rupnik. The chapel, decorated by Mr Rupnik, will be dedicated to Saint Therese of the Child Jesus. The interior is decorated with a mosaic in her honor, while the exterior façade is also in mosaic form, but without the motif. The mosaic measures about 70m2.
P. Marko Ivan Rupnik is a world-renowned theologian, lecturer, thinker, and artist of Slovenian origin, one of the most renowned sacred artists of our time. His art is inspiring and redemptive, imbued with an active love of God and communion. Since 1995, he has been Director of the Aletti Study and Research Centre in Rome, which operates under the auspices of the Pontifical Oriental Institute, which seeks to bring together the Eastern Orthodox faith and art with the Western Catholic faith and art. Among the most prominent are the mosaics in the basilicas of the pilgrimage centers of Lourdes, Fatima, San Giovanni Rotondo, and the shrine of John Paul II in Krakow. Among the most recent is the mosaic in St Peter's Church in Črnomelj.
